Motihari Brigade’s music is Rock-N-Roll Thoughtcrime for independent minds.

U.K. born singer and lead guitar player Eric Winston is the philosopher-serf behind Motihari Brigade’s unique electric vibrato sound and “escape from zombie dystopia” concept.  The band’s Rock-n-Roll Thoughtcrime is inspired by the visionary writings of George Orwell, and intended as an antidote to the official programming that overwhelms our tele-screens.

Motihari Brigade’s latest release “Algorithm & Blues” (September 8, 2022) features defibrillating electric guitar, tachycardia rhythms on bass, and drums played by an octopus on stimulants. Layered keyboard, horn, and vocal arrangements combine to produce the magic of a highly-caffeinated rock band thumping on all ventricles. Twelve original songs and one cover provide an energetic soundtrack for listeners to more happily navigate the dystopian reality show that we are all now busily sharing.

“Algorithm & Blues” received an enthusiastic response from music reviewers and bloggers:

“You’d be hard pressed to find anyone out there who sounds like Motihari Brigade, and their thinking person’s music is just as thought provoking and musically powerful here as their excellent debut.” Tom Haugen, Take Effect

“Rebellious and daring . . . . an amazing album that will change your world and perspective.” EDM Records

“Algorithm & Blues has it all, and a bit more . . . . Every track has amazing instrumentation, from ravenous guitars, to extremely well-played drum and bass, and even a superb brass section!” Debut Band, “Off the Radar” Less Than 1000 Followers

“…this is the modern take on underground rock . . . . Most excellent.” Chris Spector, Midwest Record

“…a masterpiece of chaotic complexities with catchy tunes and rich melodies, an album worthy of recognition.” saiidzeidan, Discover Pop

“…it’ll take you more than one day to get over its beauty and captivating rock n roll charm.” Akram Soliman, Rock Era Magazine

“Keep it up comrades!” Album Reviews with Michael Boncza, Morning Star

“This is real rock, made by real instruments” EdgarAllanPoets

“The lyrics are deep and rich in language. The subject matter of the songs is unique in the story-telling style – the content is diverse . . . . There’s so much imagination and creativity that went into the album. The tunes have remarkable freestyle poetry.” Musiflo

“A complete and fulfilling album with a myriad of sounds, structures and styles.” Artisti Online (Italy)

“It sends the audience into a new musical world and a whole experience, beyond a specific genre.” Pretty White

The album’s cover art features red wine spilling from a shattered glass of elegant stemware, symbolizing the decadent party that is winding down while a new generation seeks its place in a diminished world. Algorithm & Blues raucously competes for any remaining crumbs of attention span still left available despite the onslaught of big-tech media that currently dominates the psychological crisis of human consciousness. Listen to Motihari Brigade and howl with rebellious defiance while zombies gaze at hypnotic images flickering on their smart appendages.

Motihari Brigade’s debut release “Power From Below” (2020) broadcast an electric message to a potential tribe of independent critical thinkers; “We are on our own, but not alone” – words inscribed on the guitar from the album’s cover art. “Turn off and tune out the machine” implored the title track Power From Below.  The song Talking to Crazy – also an animated cartoon – highlighted the bands hopeful blend of humor and cynicism.

Power From Below had the critics buzzing about the band’s high-energy revolution rock sound:

“…there’s scarcely a moment in Motihari Brigade’s first studio album . . . . where we aren’t feeling the crushing intensity of a band playing at full power…”
Garth Thomas, Hollywood Digest

“…awfully close to a one of a kind product . . . . This is a group that is very much onto something smart and original in the most important of ways…”
Mindy McCall, IndiePulse Music

“Motihari Brigade doesn’t waste any time getting right down to the business of rocking with a cool, confident demeanor . . . . it absolutely lives up to the buzz surrounding its release and then some.”
Nicole Killian, MobYorkCity

“An extremely powerful listen that captures the intensity that is often prevalent in today’s turbulent world . . . . thinking person’s music, and should be required listening …″
Tom Haugen in Take Effect

“Rock and Roll Thoughtcrime.  Well I am all for that! This band puts out some incredible straight up rock and roll…”
Anita Stewart, Rock At Night

“If it does not wake you up, I can’t imagine what will.  Congratulations Motihari Brigade, you have joined the ranks with The Clash, Rage Against The Machine and so many others.”
Clouzine – Contemporary Music Magazine

“…reminiscent of those great Rock records made with a little means and a lot of ambition in the proud 70s! . . . Really what a great discovery!”
Voix de Garage Grenoble
